    Saved my 718 Spyder… wife and I ordered our dream Spyder after we were forced to depart with our 981 Spyder a few years back.

    We got the 718 and quickly realized it was more of a GT4 than an older Spyder. For us, that was bad. I owned a few GT4’s and was completely underwhelmed with them from the factory. We don’t track our cars, and I don’t buy six figure cars to spend time and money for setup. I was ready to ditch this thing. Heavy turn in, awful suspension. Over remotely bumpy roads, the car felt discombobulated and completely out of sync. It was not uncommon to lose traction mid corner or while accelerating over a bumpy surface. It really felt nothing like the last Spyder.

    Thankfully some forum members dealt with this with the 981 GT4 and also the 718… DSC controller, rear toe links and an alignment. Several swore this would change everything. Well, I ordered the controller and the toe links, but the controller came in first. It’s a 5 minute install so I put it in the car. Before I did, my wife and I took the car over our test circle with some pretty horrible roads. Same problem we always noticed. There was a loss of traction on turns and sharp curves with imperfections. One spot in particular on acceleration, the car would lose contact with the road on the rear and RPMs would jump with a slight fishtail, every time.

    After the install of the DSC controller, the suspension is completely unremarkable, for a Porsche. This is really good. The suspension now feels like a normal sport suspension… not one with electronics constantly meddling, completely out of tune. The car feels normal and planted, period. Porsches GT department should be absolutely embarrassed that another suspension company can come along and quickly make the car seem near perfect when Porsche failed miserably. No loss of traction under acceleration over bumps, no bouncing the car nearly off road in rough turns, absolutely amazing.

    We are slated to install the toe links and have and alignment next week and I imagine the forum guys are right… bet that will fix the awful, heavy turn in from the factory.

    I hate that I have to drop several thousand dollars on the car to get it right, but I love that DSC Sport has a solution. We had the most aesthetically pleasing car, that I was utterly embarrassed to drive, cause I couldn’t even do the speed limit on rough back roads. But now, this thing feels borderline special. We saw double the previous speeds in a few tight curves. That’s right, from dangerous and nervous at 35 to confident at 70. I bet DSC’s alignment recommendations will make it special… these guys are geniuses.

    I have been looking for testimonials. I have the same issue with my Spyder. Especially over expansion joints in Southern California under acceleration. The car skips and hops.

    I still cannot believe how much more comfortable and stable my 718 GT4 is after this upgrade in “normal” mode. And how body roll is now non-existent, how planted and confident the car is in “sport” mode. Why isn’t the car delivered as such from factory is beyond me?
